(February 10th).Our last public screening at Central Cinemas in Seattle not only filled the house, but left 100 people looking for the next show. After the initial launch of the film in August, we are finally back in our home region with The Quantum Activist.

Many joined the filmmakers Renee Slade and Ri Stewart, along with the pivotal Betsy Chasse, co-creator of ”What the Bleep do we know?” for a lively conversation after the film about quantum physics, the nature of reality, and our responsibility to it.

Many moviegoers talked about how the film touched them to apply the power of quantum physics into their own lives. We talked about dualism a bit, but most importantly… what can we do to create a beautiful reality within the co-creation that we are entangled with? Thanks for coming!

All those late nights of editing. All those days schlepping equipment around the University of Oregon trying to find a quiet place. All those monotonous festival submissions. None of it prepared us for the exhilaration of having our film screened to sold out audiences!

I guess we tried not to think about the films success while we had our heads down in the middle of the work…. as I must say we were completely unprepared for the acceptance and joy the film received from it’s initial audiences.

Our distributor and rainmaker, Betsy Chasse (remember her from What the bleep, right?) & her right hand partner Melissa Henderson turned our premieres into a classic cinderella story. How could a group of independent filmmakers trying to do something as ideological as creating conscious media from the rainforests of oregon, ever have expected to have their film so well received in such beautiful theaters? The joy this brought to us is difficult to put into words.

Warren Etheridge from the Warren Report in Seattle was our host for both evenings, and he was a wonderful Master of Ceremonies. Both theaters worked hard at making our film look its best in the finest quality high-definition for the big screen.

Seattle sold out right away, with over 100 additional people calling the theater to get tickets to the event. We hope to see a theatrical run at Central Cinemas in Seattle due to popular demand.

The Living Room Theater in Portland sold out as well! Luckily Betsy had reserved 2 screens in case of this event, and we filled both theaters. Our team all gave up their tickets, so we waited anxiously in the lobby for the crowds reaction. It was glowing!

Dr. Goswami conducted a wonderful question and answer session after both events, with excited patrons asking meaningful questions that heightened the energy of the event; all with the possibility of changing ourselves and our world.

To our surprise, an entire van full of our bohemian friends drove over 4 hours from the coast to share our premiere. It was wonderful, and an experience that we will never forget.

Thank you everyone!

From mail order courses teaching you to master the art of the meaningful stare to pick up women, to videos that offer you the car of your dreams through positive thinking, self help has been a palpable force in the market since the early 70s, but recently, thanks largely to the emergent field of quantum physics, some of these programs have finally begun to make sense.

The most high profile of this new breed of philosophical works was the cult hit What the Bleep Do We Know?! which burst on the scene in 2004, proving that esoteric discourse on the nature of reality can, somehow, do well at the box-office. Since then, various films have tried to capitalize on this idea including Nova’s Elegant Universe and the phenomenally successful book turned movie The Secret. This last, being the least scientific of the bunch, used the ideas of quantum mechanics with regard to the changeable nature of reality to argue that intention and positive thinking can get you anything that you want in life. It even went so far as to provide a wish-list that purchasers of the film could fill out listing all of the wonderful things they hope to have as a result of the process.

Personally, I have never been much for any school of thought resembling those 70s self help plans: there is something suspicious in the idea that, for $30, I can learn a secret that will get me a great car and the house of my dreams. For this reason I was hesitant to watch What the Bleep and The Secret on the chance that they might not amount to more than so much snake oil. While I will keep my views on the latter to myself at this time, I was pleasantly surprised by the former which seemed, rather than an elaborate process for self gratification, to be an earnest attempt at understanding the nature of the world around us. Consequently, I was excited when I discovered that the University of Oregon’s Amit Goswami, one of the theoretical physicists and philosophers featured in What the Bleep, had come out with a new film called The Quantum Activist.

The film, which seeks to apply scientific understanding to spiritual subject matter, tackles such weighty questions as “what is the nature of the soul?” and “why do bad things happen to good people?” with sophistication and intelligence. The editing style is a superb blend of archival and pop culture footage, interview and lecture reels from Goswami, and computer generated esoteric symbolism that is as entertaining as it is thought provoking. What’s more, it never once resorts to the questionable tactic of offering an unrealistically simplistic road to ultimate success but deals with spirituality in an analytical and socially responsible way. All of this in a local film from Bluedot Productions out of Yachats, Oregon.

Viewers are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time at Abraxas Video at 504 E Main Street in Cottage Grove or call 942-6906 for more information. If you want the keys to all future success for just three easy payments, watch a late night infomercial and I am sure it will be happy to oblige, but if you are interested in a less sophomoric approach to mysticism, try The Quantum Activist: it won’t get you a new car, but it will help you to understand why you don’t have one.

Intention Media presents acclaimed author and Theoretical Quantum Physicist Dr. Amit Goswami, Ph.D, in a feature documentary from BlueDot Productions entitled “The Quantum Activist”

Dr. Amit Goswami, Ph.D who was featured in the hit documentary “What The Bleep Do We Know?!” has partnered with Intention Media to release a new documentary film about consciousness and the New Science. (“Bleep” is the fifth highest grossing documentary in U.S. History and was co-created by the founder of Intention Media, Betsy Chasse).

( Click here for PDF Version )

There is a revolution going on in science. A genuine paradigm shift. While mainstream science remains materialist, there are a growing number of luminaries who have re-discovered that the foundations of reality are rooted not in the material world but in the realm of consciousness itself.

“Dr. Amit Goswami as usual has the most brilliant insights into how consciousness conceives, governs, constructs and becomes biology.” – Deepak Chopra

In this new film entitled “The Quantum Activist” (www.quantumactivist.com) internationally recognized and acclaimed theoretical quantum physicist Dr. Amit Goswami, himself a pioneer in the New Science within consciousness, shares with wit and humor, insight and intelligence the nature of this new science and just what it means to us all.

“Professor Amit Goswami continues to bridge a mighty gap spanning quantum physics on the one side and the most cherished spiritual ideas from his early training in India on the other. This film takes you on his journey. It enlightened him, and it may do the same for you.” – Fred Alan Wolf

The Quantum Activist, a feature-length documentary film, itself parts with many of the patterns common to films of this genre. Inspired by cinema, award winning documentaries and the best of informative film styles “The Quantum Activist” is not your typical smorgasbord of new idea’s… but instead, an in depth focus of one mans life and work that are destined to change the world in which we live. “There have been many films which have attempted to bring forth these ideas, and while being informative, have not reached the same level of inspiration and entertainment The Quantum Activist does” says Betsy Chasse, founder of Intention Media, “It’s still a documentary, but we are introduced to someone who has a compelling life story and a background which helps the audience want to keep watching to the end.” This film bridges the gap between God and Science. The work of Goswami, with stunning precision and without straying from the rigors of quantum mechanics, reveals the overarching unity inherent in the world’s major religions and mystical traditions.

As well as being a highly sought after international teacher and speaker, Dr. Goswami is the author of 11 books and numerous papers translated into 9 languages. In this film, the topics covered range from what quantum physics reveals about the nature of God and religion, evolution, creativity, inner and outer experienced reality, to economic structures and how we can use the models of the most subtle (quantum) aspects of reality to structure an economic model that can benefit all of Life.

Already scheduled at 4 international film festivals, international consciousness conferences & world peace events, the film represents the world’s need for new thought and creativity. The film is a recent winner of “Best American Documentary” at the Thailand International Film Festival and overall “Best Documentary” at the Heart of England Film Festival.

Shot on location at the University of Oregon with state of the art HD cameras, filmmakers Ri Stewart & Renee Slade of BlueDot Productions crafted The Quantum Activist as an artistic film. Filled with wonderful graphics, music from top musicians such as Michael Manring & Tony Kaltenberg, and archival footage that not only represents but adds humor; all round out an unforgettable movie that will change the way we understand the nature of reality

Intention Media films and DVDs deliver inspiration through stories of personal courage and spiritual endeavor, powerful examples of social activism and change, the examination of environmental issues, as well as breakthroughs in scientific understanding of our physical and metaphysical universe. Through these types of messages, Intention Media focuses on giving people the opportunity to realize they have the capacity to uplift both themselves and the world around them.

Headed by filmmaker Betsy Chasse (co-creator of the hit film What the Bleep Do We Know?!), and Internet businesses marketing and operations expert, Melissa Henderson, Intention Media was developed following the incredibly successful grassroots marketing, sales and distribution campaign they created for “The Bleep.” Three years operating the highly trafficked online sales outlet BleepStore.com gave Chasse and Henderson access to films with messages and information they felt deserved much great public attention and wider distribution. Using their extensive contacts in both the theatrical world, and online and as well as regular retail outlets, they have developed an effective, streamlined film and DVD distribution system throughout the United States and Canada.
