Dead is in deed a painful process, ego will always refuse to die, even in the last event. There is not a single chance ego would accept dead as a natural process, not even knowing life will never die.
aqueous said The death of the ego gives birth to the spiritual exploration of the universe. I am not sure why denial would equate to pain necessarily. However, I do believe that one who is “ready to die” (ex. Euthanasia) mentally accepts this transformation of energies and accepts this process painlessly.
